After three years of dating, congratulations are in order for Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost, who have just tied the knot. The pair decided to announce the news in a slightly unconventional way, releasing a statement through American charity Meals on Wheels - which helps to fight against isolation in the elderly - in the hope of raising donations for the cause during the pandemic.
'We’re thrilled to break the news that Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost were married over the weekend in an intimate ceremony with their immediate family and loved ones, following COVID-19 safety precautions as directed by the CDC,' the statement by the charity began. 'Their wedding wish is to help make a difference for vulnerable older adults during this difficult time by supporting @mealsonwheelsamerica. Please consider donating to celebrate the happy couple by clicking the link in our bio.'
The actress began dating Colin in the summer of 2017 before going public in September the same year. Two years later, the comedian proposed. Scarlett has previously been married to Ryan Reynolds (2008-2011) and Romain Dauriac (2014-2017), with whom she shares daughter Rose.
In an interview for Playboy in 2017, Scarlett admitted that she doesn’t think ‘it’s natural to be a monogamous person’. 'I might be skewered for that, but I think it’s work,' she said at the time. 'It’s a lot of work. And the fact that it is such work for so many people - for everyone - the fact of that proves that it is not a natural thing. It’s something I have a lot of respect for and have participated in, but I think it definitely goes against some instinct to look beyond.'
