Scarlett Johansson has given birth to her first child. It’s a girl! And she’s given her such a flippin’ cute name. Rose Dorothy! Old lady names are having a major resurgence of late; Drew Barrymore has Olive, Kourtney Kardashian called her girl Penelope and Lily Allen called her little one Ethel. Also, Rose and Dorothy were two of the *Golden Girls, *so the old lady-ness of the name is undeniable.

Representatives for the actress confirmed on Thursday that ScarJo and her French fiancé Roman Dauriac are now parents to Rose Dorothy. No other details were given, but since Scarlett was reportedly recently spotted shopping for baby clothes in New York City, we can assume she had the baby in New York. Scarlett herself grew up in the city; she actually went to the Fame school.

Speaking of that shopping trip, a cashier at American Apparel said that she bought navy blue baby clothes, so naturally some people assumed she was expecting a boy. Like, gasp, she didn’t buy a billion pink things, so it must be a boy.

ScarJo’s had a few ups and downs this past year. Sure, she got engaged and had a baby, but she’s also suffered a lot of flack for becoming a SodaStream spokesperson, which was at odds with her status as an Oxfam Ambassador. Most recently, people made fun of her for a T-shirt she designed for Planned Parenthood. Seriously though, the hot pink garment isn’t really in line with her image as an indie-hipster.

In any case, we’re so happy for her and her adorably-named sprog.
