Hillary has previously said that she wants abortion to be 'safe, legal and rare'...

Hillary Clinton is the overwhelming frontrunner to be the Democratic candidate in the 2016 American election. And she is also about to become a grandmother, as daughter Chelsea recently announced her pregnancy. As far as we know, these two things are entirely unrelated. But, according to Sarah Palin, becoming a grandmother 'will kind of broaden [Hillary's] world view'.

And by that, she means 'narrow her views on abortion'. The personality – Palin previously ran to become vice president (with John McCain at the helm) in the 2008 election, which eventually saw Barack Obama and Joe Biden voted in, but now doesn't represent anyone in any office – is opposed to abortion, even in cases of rape and incest.

She also thinks thinks that, on her way to becoming a grandmother, too (Palin's then-teenage daughter, Bristol, infamously got pregnant during her campaign trail), Clinton's pro-choice views are going to flip around. She's said: 'Just knowing that her daughter, Chelsea, is pregnant with a baby – it’s a real baby! It’s not some disposable something – and I know that will be controversial – but, those who, perhaps, they’re in this position now as a parent or a grandparent, they realise that sanctity of life, how innocent, how precious it is.'

Palin told Extra: 'And of all places it should be in the womb that these babies are protected. So maybe even on a social issue like that she’ll open her eyes.'

First of all, Chelsea's unborn baby is very wanted and she's said she is 'very excited' about the pregnancy, so it's a bit dodgy to be using her as a way of talking about abortion.

Second of all, Clinton believes in women's right to choose, and said so fantastically in this video. We doubt she's changing her mind any time soon.

Thirdly, we're not sure Palin's ramblings will even register on the pantsuited politician's radar. Clinton's got other stuff to be getting on with, like becoming the leader of the free world.

Fourthly, and finally, you may have noticed that as a special bonus, Sarah Palin was being interviewed by Mario Lopez – you know, A C Slater from Saved By The Bell!
