Who doesn’t remember Carrie Bradshaw’s wedding dress? The ruffled Vivienne Westwood gown sold out online within hours, as brides-to-be flocked to imitate the style icon.

With Carrie ending up jilted at the altar by Mr Big and the dress weighing in at over £11,000, the influence of the gown is indisputable.

But Sarah Jessica Parker opted for a different look altogether at her real life nuptials. In 1997, SJP wed fellow actor Matthew Broderick and simultaneously broke tradition with a black Morgane Le Fay dress. And the actress undoubtedly sparked a trend.

You might think it’s a classic Carrie move to go against the mainstream but the truth is far from it. Turns out, SJP regrets her sartorial decision.

In a recent interview with Watch What Happens Live, the actress told Andy Cohen, “Oh, I wish it was because I was badass. I just was too embarrassed to spend any time looking for a wedding dress. There was a store that I liked that I knew, and I just went and got whatever they had hanging."

What would Carrie think?

But SJP needn’t worry, as her 20th anniversary with Matthew Broderick is coming up so she could always opt for a dress from her own upcoming collection...
