When it comes to royal Instagram accounts, most of our attention goes to monitoring the feeds of The Fab Four's two profiles: Will and Kate's account Kensington Royal, and Harry and Meghan's Sussex Royal. Both offer glimpses into the world of royalty, keeping us up to date with their lives, charitable projects and public appearances. But it's recently come to our attention that they have a rival in the Insta stakes. It turns out Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York, has been owning Insta long before Kate and Meghan joined the Gram.

Sarah, or Fergie as she is affectionately known, has something of an eccentric vibe when it comes to curating her posts. She's not afraid to reveal her quirks or look a bit silly. Hence, her latest addition to the grid: a picture of her shopping at Waitrose that offers many, many questions. Why didn't she grab a shopping basket? Who's taking the photo? Are royals not allowed in Aldi? We must know the answers.

Or take this example, which documents a 2017 trip to Rwanda. Sure, the caption explains that the ex-wife of Prince Andrew was in the African country to discuss micro financing, and she adds that she is raising money for a start-up ran by the other women in the photograph. But there's something about her broad smile compared to the woman she has her arm around, as well as the bright fabrics that seem so out of character for her royal. In short, she can be a bit Edina Monsoon from Absolutely Fabulous.

We've all got that aunt or cousin who loves to get creative with the Insta Clip Art setting. Fergie is the royal family's. She has a tendency to post images after adding her own block text, sharing wisdom or thanking followers for kindness. Take this one, which followed the announcement of her daughter Princess Eugenie's engagement to Jack Brooksbank. Make no mistake: this is the Instagram account of a woman who has a 'Live, Laugh, Love' ornament on her mantelpiece.

Aside from the whole 'funny aunt' thing, she's always keen to remind us that, first and foremost, she's a mum. Most members of the family are very careful with the images that they share, but Sarah's half-in/half-out position in The Firm must give her a bit more freedom. So we're treated to a few pretty fab family throwbacks once in a while. Like this one, of Eugenie and Beatrice as young girls. Those dresses!

So arise Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York and Queen of our Instagram feed. We're big fans.
