Only true MIC stans will remember, but Jamie Laing is not the first Chelsea bachelor to have swept Sophie off her feet. Back in 2018, Jamie and Sam Thompson fell out over Sophie and one iconic clip from their argument is doing numbers on social media.
Sam and Sophie dated for six months and when they broke up, Jamie was Sam's shoulder to cry on. Not long after, Jamie started dating Sophie and Sam was NOT happy about. So, now that Jamie and Sophie are married, a clip from the episode has been circulating online where Sam has a go at Jamie and says, 'you don't even like her that much' and 'I wish you'd gone and married the girl because then at least it would all be for something.'
Well well well, look what happened! Sam shared the clip on his Instagram followed by another clip of the pair getting married, and it looks like he's about to cry (tears of joy). It was all for something in the end, Sam!
Luckily for the trio, it's all water under the bridge and they all remain good friends. It seems like part and parcel of sharing details about your personal life on a reality show is that clips from the past might come back to haunt you. But sometimes it all ends happily ever after. Not only are Jamie and Sophie married (twice over), having had a huge celebration in Sotogrande, Spain last weekend with several past and present MIC cast members, but Sam is happily coupled up with former Love Islander Zara McDermott too.
Sam and Zara both attended the Spanish nuptials and shared the sweet personalised messages on their place cards at the reception. Sam's said: 'the nicest bloke in Showbiz, he keeps it pretty real/ Is he the reason we're all here today? Don't make it a big deal!' And Zara's said: 'trailblazing presenter and documentary maker galore,/ she's beaut & funny & making the world a better place for sure!' So it's safe to say they're all on good terms.
Nearlyweds and MIC fans can find snippets from the happy occasion all over social media. Sophie and Jamie shared the first pictures of their big day on their Newlyweds podcast account, and the groom also shared a short wedding video with his followers less than 24 hours after he said 'I do'. But with a wedding as stunning as theirs, we can't blame him.
While she opted for a short Vivienne Westwood number for their legal ceremony in Chelsea back in April, Sophie wore a long-sleeved embroidered dress with a white veil on Saturday, and Jamie opted for a black suit and bow tie. It was a lavish outdoor affair with more than 200 guests, huge long tables adorned with flowers and a large stage for speeches and live music. We just wish we were invited...
