There are two things that young people are, like, desperate to get their hands on. One is the frowny, tousle-locked, doodle-tattooed One Direction singer Harry Styles. The other is a phone with the now-retired Flappy Bird app on it.
Now us who make up the youth of the world can sate their desires for both with a combination of the two, available as an app. It's called Harry Dive and in it, Harry stands on top of a mountain. Every time he jumps off it, you have to tap the screen to dictate which way he falls, so he can avoid obstacles such as rocks and trees. You also have to pick up as many coins as possible on the way down, a bit like Lee Ryan doing all of those well-paid interviews on his drift back to obscurity post-_Celebrity Big Brothe_r.
Strangely addictive, and with the added bonus of getting to look at a cartoon Harry's hair whipping in the wind as he accelerates down the mountain (very Sochi) we can see it taking flight. Sorry.
Flappy Bird was removed from the iTunes and Android stores after creator Dong Nguyen couldn't handle the poor feedback he got from users who were frustrated at the game's addictiveness and near-impossibility to do well at it. He tweeted, 'I am sorry 'Flappy Bird' users, 22 hours from now, I will take 'Flappy Bird' down. I cannot take this anymore.'
However, the game was so popular for some has lead toTwitter death threats, such as 'YOU BEST NOT BE DELETING FLAPPY BIRD BECAUSE I WILL MURDER YOU IF U DO', and phones that still have Flappy Bird on it are now selling for up to £50,000 on eBay. And considering eBay are now pulling listings of phones that haven't been reset to factory settings, it really looks like Harry Dive is the only decent alternative to Flappy Bird.
We've got 132 points on Harry Dive so far. What about you?
