It's just emerged that Selena Gomez started off her 2014 in rehab, getting to the facility just three days after she was spotted going on a Segway ride with on-off boyfriend Justin Bieber. On 5 January, 24 hours after Justin posted a selfie of himself and Selena on Instagram with the uncharacteristically cute caption, 'Love the way you look at me', Selena checked herself into pricey rehab centre The Meadows in Arizona. It's just as expensive as your Betty Fords and Cirque Lodges, costing an average of $8,800 (£5,400) per week, but, unlike other rehab centres favoured by celebrities, it doesn't just deal with substance abuse issues and ‘tackles a wide variety of disorders – including PTSD, anorexia, sexual addiction, anxiety and depression.’

A representative for the singer and actress has told The Mirror: ‘Selena voluntarily spent time at Meadows but not for substance abuse’.

Apparently friends and family had encouraged Selena to seek professional help after working too hard and hanging around 'bad influences'. And unlike her ex Justin Bieber, who is still causing havoc and controversy across Northern America despite warnings from those close to him that he needs to CTFO, it seems Selena listend and opted out to get away from the bad things in her life. ‘It just got to a point where she needed to get out of Los Angeles, get away from "the scene" and the pressures of Hollywood, to also get away from those who had, admittedly, become a bad influence on her. She realised she needed help,’ a friend said.

Good news, though – she's back on the mend. ‘Selena is feeling much better. She’s feeling really positive, healthy and already getting back to work,’ the same friend's said. And her routine seems to be back to normal – she was spotted attending a casting call in LA recently, and has been seen out with BFFs Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift. There’s no word yet on whether a string of cancelled tour dates are back on, though. Last December, it was announced that she would not go ahead with the Australian and Asian leg of her tour, giving the statement: ‘It has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be.’

Yeah, as catchy as Come & Get It is, it's probably more important that she gets herself back to normal before she heads off on tour again.
