There’s A Very Good Reason Why Georgia May Jagger’s Selfies Are Always #nofilter

She's fed up of losing her freckles to re-touching in photoshoots…

Georgia May Jagger is pretty honest – literally pretty and honest – when it comes to any retouching of her own personal Instagram selfies, as it’s emerged she refuses to put a filter on any of them.

When asked if she Photoshops photos of herself before uploading them to the photo-based social networking site, she replied: ‘Just the filters. I like the first filter [Amaro]. It’s easy. It just brightens. Sometimes I’ll use X-Pro if it’s a boring photo, but not on pictures of myself.’

It’s easy to understand why she wouldn’t even put a simple Valencia on a photo of herself (side note: everything looks great in Valencia) because not only is she stunning, but she’s also so over being photoshopped in her day job.

‘I’ve had some strange Photoshopping done to me before. I think every model has experienced that,’ she told US Cosmpolitan*. ‘*I do find it quite weird when they just get rid of every single freckle. I have like a little mole [above my eyebrow] and sometimes they get rid of it, and I’m just like, “Why?”’

But, in quite a measured way, she’s not entirely anti-retouching. ‘When you look really different than how you normally look, that’s kind of a bit weird. I mean, I think it’s harder to do with me because I already have weird teeth and stuff, so they’re not going to be able to make them normal and straight.’

And, for anyone looking to replicate Georgia’s selfie style, she had some tips on how to do a great selfie, all from her mum, Jerry Hall, who is also a model. ‘My mum’s always like “Hold [the phone] higher”, like all the people used to do on Myspace. Ideally, you want to be in direct sunlight; then you don’t really even need a filter.’

Smart… on the downside, looks like we’ll have to go a very long way to find much sunlight today. That is, unless we make quite liberal use of the Toaster filter.
