Spend our apologies in advance to Barack Obama and Joe Biden, Ant and Dec and Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. We've found a new favourite bromance: Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal.
The pair became fast friends while working on their up-coming sci-fi film Life, and have spent most of their recent press appearances showering each other in compliments. It’s all rather heart-warming, really.
‘Jake is easily the most interesting actor working in Hollywood today,’ Ryan enthused while appearing on Good Morning America. ‘Definitely one of my favourites, and then at the same time one of the kindest guys I’ve ever met.’
He went on to offer his co-star the ultimate praise by giving Jake’s cooking skills a shout-out, and risked incurring the wrath of his wife Blake Lively in the process.
‘Blake, my wife, is very good at cooking, and Jake might be just a little bit better. He can throw down. It gets very competitive between the two,’ he said, before joking that Blake might not take that comment so well.
‘I’m moving out at the end of the month I’m actually moving out right now, under this desk. I’m already making plans,’ he laughed.
Jake returned the favour when discussing his co-star with Entertainment Tonight, describing Ryan as ‘a good man, […] like a brother.’
‘I’m proud to say that he’s my really good friend. He’s a wonderful man,’ he continued.
Can these two have a spin-off reality show, please? Or an Ant and Dec-esque Saturday night TV slot? A road trip movie? Hollywood, take note.
