Ryan Reynolds has spoken out over the heartbreak after he discovered an old childhood friend had tried to sell photos of his baby daughter James.
Reynolds, who welcomed his baby girl into the world with wife Blake Lively nine months ago, said he was devastated to discover a friend had gone behind his back.
"A guy that I’d known for my whole life, one of my closest friends growing up, he had been shopping pictures of my baby around" he revealed in an interview in GQ.
"I kind of got in front of it, which is good. But it was a slightly dark period. A bad couple of weeks… It was like a death. It was like one of those devastating things to find out."
Reynolds revealed he hadn't spoken to the friend since the incident, and that he believes he did it for money.
"Just for money. I mean, I don’t think he thought he would ever be caught. But it’s a pretty narrow group of people that I would send photos like that to".
"They’re just, like, my closest family and my closest friends: ‘Here’s us in the delivery room!’… It was, like, so kind of shocking. There isn’t really a conversation to have.
"It’s just, ‘Oh, well, now I’m never going to see you or talk to you again, unfortunately.’ That’s kind of how it worked out."
Despite this distressing news, Ryan insists he is enjoying fatherhood, and that he loves 'changing diapers' and has a 'stupid grin' on his face all the time.
"I have no problem waking up five times in the middle of the night and changing diapers, and as exhausted as you get, I have this stupid grin on my face all the time.
"And that’s not because I have a nanny or something like that. It’s just us right now, and I love it."
GQ also filmed the actor attempting to build an Ikea crib for baby James - and we can totally relate to his struggle. No matter how clear the instructions, building flat-pack furniture is HARD.
