Take a moment to cast your mind back to 2012 and one of Hollywood’s biggest scandals. With the third Twilight movie wrapped and Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson the toast of Hollywood, pictures were leaked of Stewart kissing her the Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders, who was married to her Snow White co-star, Liberty Ross.
Naturally, the news sent the media into overdrive and even Donald Trump shared his views on the situation. At the time of the scandal, both Stewart and Sanders issued public apologies. Stewart said she was ‘deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment’ and Sanders, a father of two, revealed he was ‘utterly distraught’ about the damage he had done to his family.
The pair have said little more on the matter- until now. In a new interview with The Metro to promote Ghost In The Shell, Sanders was asked about the media frenzy following his affair.
'You never know what's coming in life. Around every corner there's something unexpected, and that's life. You just have to brush yourself off and continue moving forward the best you can’ Sanders told The Metro.
'Everyone makes mistakes. I am bound to make more mistakes, and I wouldn't expect my life to be exciting if I didn't ... If you took people off the table for a momentary lapse, there would be no one making art,' he added.
