The picture of Harry and Meghan kissing at the polo immediately became a media moment this week, as Meghan presented her husband with a trophy and a peck.

But they’re not the only royals who like a smooch, members of the royal family can decide when and where they show affection with their partners in public, and there have been some seriously saucy royal snogs in the past.

In 1985 Princess Diana presented husband Charles with the loser's prize after he was defeated by his opposition at a Championship Polo Match, and just like Meghan, gave him a kiss too.

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson shared an intimate moment at a public engagement in 1986.

Prince William and Kate Middleton

This is the now-iconic picture of William and Kate kissing on the balcony at their wedding which we so hoped Meghan and Harry would recreate – alas their wedding took place at the smaller St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, not at Westminster Abbey. The picture was photobombed by young Grace Van Cutsem who found the crowd far too loud.
