Middleton wore an elegant white dress by Alexander McQueen paired with a ruby necklace that matched Princess Charlotte's outfit. The adorable two-year-old wore a red and white printed dress with shiny red shoes and a red bow in her hair. Prince William also followed the theme in a white shirt and red tie.

While it is not unusual for the Royal family to co-ordinate their outfits, this time there was a deeper meaning behind their distinct colour theme.

Royal fans noticed that the red and white theme was a subtle nod to the Polish flag, and a signal of gratitude to the country they were visiting.

This isn't the first time the family have honoured the country they were visiting via their clothing choices. When the Duchess of Cambridge visited Canada as part of a 2011 Royal Tour she famously wore a maple leaf hat.
