You might have heard that today it was the Royal Christening of Princess Charlotte, which was held at St Mary Magdalene Church in Norfolk.

It was a private family service, but for the first time in history the public were invited to congregate in the paddock outside of Church where they are allowed to take photographs of the little princess.

The family of four walked to the Church from Sandringham House for the 25 minute service which took place at 4.30pm. This is the first time the family have been photographed together.

Princess Charlotte wore a handmade replica of the Royal Christening Robe, made by Angela Kelly, Dressmaker to The Queen. The original Robe was made in 1841 for the christening of Queen Victoria's eldest daughter, Victoria.

The original Honiton lace gown then went on to be worn by The Queen, her children and her grandchildren at all of their Royal christenings. It was the Queen who commissioned the replica to be made to preserve the original.

The Duchess of Cambridge wore a smart cream Alexander McQueen coat with a Jane Taylor hat, and pushed Charlotte up the Church path in a beautiful black vintage Millson pram, which the Queen used for her own children.

Meanwhile Charlotte's brother, Prince George, walked into the church himself holding his father's hand. George is wearing red shorts and an embroidered white shirt, which is a very similar outfit to the one that his Dad William wore when he visited his brother Harry at the hospital after he was born. Oh the royals do like their vintage.

After the 25 minute service, the 30 guests including the royal family and godparents left for afternoon tea at Sandringham House. At the tea they served a tier from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's wedding cake.

It was announced on Sunday morning that Charlotte's godparents would be Sophie Carter, James Meade, Adam Middleton, Laura Fellowes and Thomas van Straubenzee.
