What a year it's (almost) been in fashion and in film.

This year we have seen a number of stars rocket to the realms of super stardom; such figures as Caitlyn Jenner (that Vanity Fair cover), Eddie Redmayne (his Oscar win), Cara Delevingne (lead role in Paper Towns), Gigi and Bella Hadid (everything...).

This year has also seen the rise of formerly lesser well-knowns, like Downton Abbey's Lily James, who bagsied the lead role in Disney's Cinderella, and Léa Seydoux who made it big playing Madeleine Swann in the 24th James Bond instalment, Spectre.

But who are the big names of next year?

Rising Stars Of 201s

Edward Holcroft, Actor [Rex]1 of 7

He wowed us all playing George Boleyn in 'Wolf Hall' and Charlie Hesketh in 'Kingsman: The Secret Service' this year, not to mention staring alongside Ben Whishaw and Jim Broadbent in the recent BBC thriller 'London Spy'. If there's a young Brit to keep an eye on next year, it's this one.

Daisy Ridley, Actress [Rex]2 of 7

Daisy Ridley, Actress [Rex]

She had a few telly appearances under her belt – 'Mr Selfridge', 'Casualty' – but few could have predicted she'd move on to bigger things so quickly. Sorry, did we say 'bigger things'? We actually meant 'THE BIGGEST THING'. In April 2014 it was announced Ridley would play Rey in 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' and now the blockbuster has landed, Ridley is enjoying its critical acclaim. She's already filming scenes for the next one, Episode VIII (set for release in 2017), and we predict next year will be an even bigger one for this rising Brit star.

John Boyega, Actor [Rex]3 of 7

Since we're on the subject of 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' how could we not mention it's key character: Stormtrooper FN-2187 / Finn, as played by British actor John Boyega? We just love him! Boyega learned he'd won the role over breakfast in Mayfair, when director J.J. Abrams told him: 'John, you're the new star of 'Star Wars''.... Of 'Star Wars' AND Hollywood, we say.

Ruby Rose, Model/Actress [Rex]4 of 7

Ruby Rose shot to fame this year and we predict her success will rocket in 2016. Born in Melbourne, Australia, Rose rose to fame as MTV Australia's VJ, but it was her role in US comedy-drama series, Orange Is The New Black, this year that got the critics' tongues wagging. Recently she hit the tabloids by confirming her 20-month engagement with Phoebe Dahl had been called off. But the pair have maintained it was an amicable split and have nothing but the greatest respect for one another.

Dakota Johnson, Actress [Rex]5 of 7

Such was the rumoured squabbling between 'Fifty Shades of Grey' writer EL. James and the film's director Sam Taylor-Johnson, it almost threatened to overshadow the movie's lead star, Dakota Johnson. Luckily, in the spite of the film's mixed reviews, Johnson came out on top. She's set to hit the silver screen again in February with comedy film 'How To Be Single', also starring comedienne of the moment, Rebel Wilson. All eyes on her next year.

Thomas Tait, Designer [Rex]6 of 7

Thomas Tait, Designer [Rex]

He won the BFA's Emerging Womenswear Designer accolade last month and is known to be the youngest student ever to complete an MA in womenswear design from Central St. Martins. The Canadian also won the inaugural LVMH Young Designer Prize in 2014 and had positive feedback for his SS16 'awkwardly intimate' collection this autumn. We can't wait to see what he does next season.

Alicia Vikander, Actress [Rex]7 of 7

She's been on the rise for a while, but with 'The Danish Girl' landing on 1st January, we anticipate that Vikander will hit the ground running in 2016. She's already been nominated for a Golden Globe and SAG for her role as Gerda Wegener in the film, and who knows, an Oscar nomination might be in store for the Swedish actress and dancer too.
