If you've been to London's Winter Wonderland recently, you may have inadvertently been rubbing shoulders with music royalty. That's right: Rihanna made an incognito trip to the popular Christmas attraction.
Rihanna was at the event on Saturday night, with her friend and assistant Tina Truong. You might wonder how one of the world's most famous women could go unnoticed, but even Tina lost her, posting an Instagram plea for her followers to tag Rihanna and inform her of her whereabouts. She eventually tracked her down, finding her at a bratwurst stand buying the biggest hot dog we've ever seen. Stars: they're just like us.
How did the star go unspotted? She wore a scarf over half of her face. Effective, but it made actually eating the bratwurst nigh on impossible.
Rihanna has become a regular fixture in the capital city in the last year: she's renting a mansion in St John's Wood, with reports stating that this costs her around £16,000 a month. Her boyfriend, Hassan Jameel, also has a house here.
Rihanna's presence in London had previously gone unannounced, but she inadvertently revealed her whereabouts by posting a clip of her at home in her kitchen. A Sainsbury's Bag For Life was visible in the background, which made her British fans go wild wondering if they were about to find their idol in the self-service aisle.
Speaking to The New York Times earlier this year, Rihanna revealed that her favourite things to do in the city include 'walking around the block', and that she can go 'incognito' here. She also described a 'cute little Jamaican market near where I live', and said she enjoys visiting a 'grocery store.' She has been known to ride the Tube, and has popped into Boots once or twice.
In the last month, she has also been spotted partying at Laylow - a West London members' club - as well as Annabel's in Mayfair. She was also acknowledged at the British Fashion Awards, showing up to receive a prize for Best Luxe, an acknowledgement of her achievements with her brand, Fenty.
One thing she's not doing: releasing her long-awaited new album. On Sunday, Rihanna posted a video of a toy dog dancing to House of Pain hit 'Jump Around'. 'Update', she posted. 'Me listening to R9 by myself and refusing to release it.'
She's not the only member of the A-list to make the trip to Winter Wonderland. Victoria and David Beckham took the kids earlier this month, while Naomi Campbell went along with Vogue editor Edward Enninful and Dame Vivienne Westwood. Forget Paris at Christmas: evidently it's all about mulled wine in Hyde Park.
Keep your eyes peeled...
