Although they’re not the most obvious of collaborators, we have to admit that a chance to see Rihanna and Taylor Swift share a mic would be quite the ticket, don’t you agree? But, sadly, Ms Fenty has completely ruled out the possibility of joining the ranks of Cara Delevingne, Phoebe from Friends, Ellen DeGeneres, Julia Roberts and Alanis Morisette in the Swift girl squad.

Speaking in a new interview in NME magazine, Rihanna was asked if she would ever collaborate with Taylor and she said, ‘I don’t think I would. I just don’t think it makes sense. I don’t think our brands are the same: I don’t think they match, I don’t think our audiences are the same.’ Well that’s that then.

She also waded into the more controversial topic of pop stars as role models, claiming Taylor was one and she was not. ‘In my mind she’s a role model, I’m not.’

Rihanna – who was pictured smoking on the shoot that accompanied the interview – has previously spoken about her desire to be seen as a performer and not a bastion of morality and etiquette for young fans.

Last year she claimed she hated the term ‘role model’. ‘I don’t like to use that word because people have their own opinion on what that means to them,’ she told* USA Today*. ‘I can’t really say I’m a role model. I’m not perfect. I’m not trying to sell that.’
