If you follow basically any reality TV star on Instagram, you’ll be well aware that they use their huge platforms to promote products to their followers – and, after their estimated earnings have been revealed, it’s easy to see why. They may have got their big start on the small screen but, in a year that’s seen a lot of TV work scrapped or postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, more and more stars are turning to the lucrative hashtag ad game to make a living.

The British reality stars who have raked in the most money on Instagram in 2020 have now been revealed by LoveUX and we’re shellshocked at the amount some of our favourite famous faces earned in just 12 months. Behold the top-earning British reality stars of 2020...

Top of the list is Love Island 2016 star Olivia Bowen who, four years after rising to fame on the ITV2 dating show, managed to make almost £1.4million from Instagram ads alone in 2020. Wow. Her husband Alex also earned just shy of £600k, which means they raked in a total of nearly £2million as a couple.

In other reality TV news, ITV2 have just launched a brand new dating show to fill the Love Island-shaped void in our lives and we just can't get enough. If you’ve never heard of it before (where have you been?), The Cabins sees singletons challenged to the most revealing first date of their lives as they move into an intimate cabin in the countryside with a potential love interest. After 24 hours of getting up close and personal with each other, they then have to decide if they would like to spend more time together or if they want to call it a day and walk away. Sounds good, right?
