Rachel Weisz has revealed that she is expecting her first child with husband Daniel Craig.

The actress confirmed the happy news in an interview with the New York Times, telling the paper, ‘I’ll be showing soon. Daniel and I are so happy.’

‘We’re going to have a little human,’ she confirmed, before adding that she and her husband do not yet know whether they will welcome a boy or a girl. ‘We can’t wait to meet him or her. It’s all such a mystery,’ she said.

Rachel, who will soon star in Disobedience opposite Rachel McAdams, has one son, 11-year-old Henry with her ex-partner, director Darren Aronofsky, while Daniel has a 25-year-old daughter, Ella, from his previous marriage to actress Fiona Loudon.

In the same interview, the actress briefly discussed her marriage to the James Bond star, telling the Times, ‘I’m very happy being married, very, very happy,’ before adding that both she and her husband don’t see their relationship as something that contributes to their personal ‘brands’ as stars. Discussing those celebrities who choose to share more of their private lives through social media and public displays of affection, she said: ‘I really take my hat off to them. But Daniel and I are really similar. We just literally don’t know how to do that. We’re just really crap at talking about our private lives.’

Rachel and Daniel were friends for years but started dating in 2010, shortly after they worked on Dream House, a horror film in which they played a husband and wife. They married the following year in a low-key ceremony in New York, with a select guest list of just four (with their respective children making up half the numbers, and two close friends acting as official witnesses).

Speaking to GQ in 2015, Daniel revealed: ‘We got away with it. We did it privately […] we didn’t want it f—ked up, because that would be sharing a secret. And the whole point is that it was a secret.'
