Tan France{ =nofollow}has officially become a US citizen. The Queer Eye fashion star, who was born in Doncaster, emigrated to the US in 2015 - but he’s now revealed that he’s finally become a US citizen, and that he wants to vote for change.

‘For me, this is monumental,’ he wrote, next a photo of him taking the oath during a socially distanced ceremony. ‘It’s something I’ve been working towards for literally 20 years, which makes this all the more emotional. And now, I will exercise my constitutional right as an American. Today, I will register to vote, and vote for the change I wish to see in OUR nation.' He also posted a sweet picture with his husband, Rob.

Hundreds of people were quick to congratulate Tan, with Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez writing, 'Congratulations! Our country is better with you as part of it.'

The fifth series of Queer Eye recently dropped on Netflix to help keep us entertained during lockdown, and the show has been renewed for a another series with the Fab Five - Antoni Porowski, Karamo Brown, Bobby Berk{ =nofollow}and Jonathan Van Ness - returning to give more life-changing makeovers.

However, Tan's other Netflix show, Next In Fashion was dropped - much to the dismay of fans. The show, which Tan hosted alongside model Alexa Chung, only aired last year, but it was cut earlier this month. 'Next In Fashion has been axed by Netflix, despite it being great, entertaining and loved by almost everyone,' one user tweeted.
