As a truly twenty-first century monarch, it's only natural that Queen Elizabeth has the power to command the Great British Twittersphere.
And today, our monarch has done just that, tweeting a 'thank you' message from Buckingham Palace's official Twitter account.
In less than 140 characters, Her Majesty extends a warm thank you to the many Twitter users who wished her well on her 90th birthday.
The royal tweet reads thus: 'I am most grateful for the many digital messages of goodwill I have received and would like to thank you all for your kindness. Elizabeth R.'
The Queen has already amassed nearly 2,000 retweets and almost 4,000 favourites - and there have been plenty of replies too, with this being one of our favourites...
And if you're ever feeling a little bit blue, just take a look at this picture of the Queen tweeting said message from the royal iPad.
This isn't Her Majesty's first foray into the wonderful world of social media. She famously posted a tweet to followers of the @RoyalFamily account at the opening of the 'Information Age' exhibit at the Science Museum in October 2014, writing: 'It is a pleasure to open the Information Age exhibition today at the @ScienceMuseum and I hope people will enjoy visiting. Elizabeth R.'
Anyone else considering signing off all their tweets in a similar fashion? It would certainly add an element of grandeur and decorum to our stream of memes and Harry Potter jokes...
More recently, she made history when she appeared in the Royal family's first ever Instagram video, joining her grandson Prince Harry to respond to Michelle Obama's fighting talk about the then-upcoming Invictus Games. Naturally, she stole the show with an appropriately regal 'Oh really!' and some truly royal side-eye.
What a time to be alive!
