If you were to hazard a guess as to what The Queen's favourite day-to-day stationery is, you'd probably come to the conclusion it's some sort of pen. Right? Not a Bic biro mind, more like a shiny nice Parker fountain pen. Something smart like that...
But if recent reports are to be believed, you would be entirely wrong. Because as a royal source disclosed to The Sun, it's actually Post-it notes that The Queen apparently favours above all other stationery.
'Her Majesty finds them very useful,' the source revealed. 'She’s a very organised person and she uses them for both her official and personal correspondence.'
PEOPLE magazine also confirmed the news – via an unnamed royal source – and reported that on a visit to the Hamilton & Inches silversmiths in Edinburgh last week, Her Majesty was presented with a bespoke sterling silver Post-it note holder, in honour of her love of the notepads.
'A little birdie told us that this may come in quite handy,' Hamilton & Inches Chief Executive, Stephen Paterson, told The Queen. 'It's a Post-it note holder for your desk.'
'Oh, that's very kind,' The Queen replied. 'Very useful.'
Pretty conclusive, right? But if you need further proof as to Her Majesty's affection for the colourful notes, it was more than delivered by her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, who looked at the gift and joked: 'It's for those sticky things...'
So there you have it: The Queen LOVES Post-its!
Might Post-it now be considering applying for their very own Royal Warrant? We do hope so.
