The Duchess of Cambridge in an oversized, corsage-embellished hat, the Queen in a Kermit-green skirt suit (more on that later) and Prince Philip in a bearskin hat. It all paled in comparison to the cuteness of Princess Charlotte, who looked to be having a marvellous time at the family occasion.
Yesterday saw the penultimate celebration for the Queen’s 90th birthday, with the Trooping the Colour Parade ending in a spectacular flyover at Buckingham Palace.
Kate Middleton looked beautiful in a blush dress coat and matching hat, and Princess Charlotte matched mum in a pretty pink dress and shoes. Prince George also looked dapper in a blue-tipped cuff and collared shirt.
The Queen chose a vivid lime-green ensemble for the occasion, and while we rather like the summery choice from her Majesty, it has become something of a social media sensation for its green-screen-ability. Users have been posting pictures of the Queen with alternative prints and patterns superimposed onto her outfit. And they’re not funny. At all…
Today marks the closing of the celebrations, with a street party for 10,000 at the Patron’s Lunch on the Mall in London. Fingers crossed for sunshine; nobody enjoys a soggy pork pie.
