Priyanka Chopra And Nick Jonas Are Getting Married In An Actual Palace

It seems that Priyanka Chopra has been taking wedding planning cues from her close friend Meghan Markle, whose Windsor nuptials she attended back in May. According to a new report in the Sun, the actress has decided upon a huge palace in Jodhpur, India as the venue for her wedding to Nick Jonas later this month.

The couple, who got engaged this summer, are reportedly set to tie the knot in the Umaid Bhawan palace in Jodhpur, the primary home of the Jodhpur royal family. The stunning building can boast – deep breath – 347 rooms, a museum and a hotel (with a 9.8 rating on Booking.com, no less) inside. One of the largest private residences in the world, it’s arguably the perfect backdrop for many lavish celebrations that Priyanka and Nick have planned.

‘There are several events leading up to the wedding, including a Christian ceremony, which will all be in India,’ a source close to the couple told the newspaper. ‘They will culminate with the Indian wedding on December 1 at the palace where they will tie the knot under a traditional four-pillar structure, a mandap.’

‘There is a mehndi event planned, where they will be decorated with henna body art, among other traditional Hindi pre-wedding events.’

And if you were wondering about the dress code, wonder no more. According to the source, ‘Nick will wear ivory and Priyanka will be in red, while the bridesmaids will wear Ralph Lauren outfits for the Christian wedding, because the couple wore the brand at their first public appearance together at the Met Gala last year.’ Makes sense, we guess.

It’s thought that Priyanka has chosen her long-time friend Mubina Rattonsey, a film producer, to act as her maid of honour. We’ll have to wait until later in the month to learn more about the presumably star-studded guest list, but we can surely expect to see Joe Jonas and his fiancée Sophie Turner (who also attended Priyanka’s Amsterdam hen do) play a part in the proceedings – and maybe even a special appearance from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex…
