After spending Thanksgiving together in Delhi, couple of the moment Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have kickstarted their lavish wedding celebrations with a traditional puja ceremony at the actress’s family home in Mumbai.

Yesterday, the couple were spotted arriving at the home of Priyanka’s mother, Madhu Chopra, wearing traditional attire, Priyanka in a sky blue suit with heavy embellishment and Nick dressed in a pale pink set of kurta pyjamas. They were joined by Nick’s elder brother Joe, also wearing blue kurta, and his fiancée, Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner, who was dressed in a red ensemble with detailed embroidery.

Priyanka and Nick are thought to have taken part in a puja ceremony, which is traditionally performed one day before the wedding in order to bless the couple, bringing them good luck and preparing them for married life. Singer Armaan Malik, a friend of Priyanka, was also present.

It’s thought that the couple’s planned three-day wedding extravaganza will get started in earnest on Friday; before that, there will be some important pre-wedding rituals, including a Mehndi henna ceremony, typically hosted at the bride’s family home, in which the hands and feet of the bride will be covered in elaborate henna designs.

The wedding weekend will encompass both Hindu and Christian ceremonies in a nod to both their faiths. The celebrations will be hosted at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, India’s ‘last living palace’ which features 347 rooms, a museum and a hotel.

According to E! News, the couple have asked Ralph Lauren, the man who first brought them together at the Met Gala back in 2017, to design a bridal gown and dresses for Priyanka’s 12 (yes, 12) bridesmaids to wear at one of the wedding ceremonies. ‘The significance is super cute and meaningful to them,’ their source said.
