After announcing their engagement in September 2019, Princess Beatrice (daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson) married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in a secret ceremony in July 2020. They had originally intended to marry in May 2020 but the big day was delayed due to Covid restrictions.

His father is Alessandro Mapelli-Mozzi, a British Olympic alpine skier and member of an Italian noble family, and his mother is Nicola Williams-Ellis

What does Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi do?

Edoardo is a multi-millionaire, having founded the property consultancy Banda (it means ‘big shed’ in Swahili, apparently) in 2007. The company specialises in finding and developing homes for the super-rich.

He is also the co-founder of a charity Cricket Builds Hope, which teaches the sport in Rwanda.

Edoardo has one son from a previous relationship, called Christopher but nicknamed Wolfie, who was born in 2016. With Princess Beatrice he has a second child, Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi, who was born in September 2021 and is tenth in line to the throne.

The couple are thought to have been introduced by a friend in September 2018, around a month before Beatrice’s sister Eugenie married Jack Brooksbank at Windsor Castle. ‘Beatrice and Edo have the same circle of friends and were introduced through a mutual chum,’ a source told The Sun.

The couple tied the knot in secret at Windsor Castle on 17 July 2020, with around 20 guests in attendance including the late Queen and the late Duke of Edinburgh.
