The Prince of Norway, 11-year-old Sverre Magnus, is officially our favourite new royal family member. Why? Well, during his grandparents King Harald V and Queen Sonja's 80th birthday celebrations, he broke royal protocol and performed a dab dance move.

Sverre was appearing with other royal family members on the balcony of Oslo’s Royal Palace for a photo, when he cheekily decided to entertain the onlookers. First, he did a "peace out" sign at the cameras, before being shoved by his well-behaved cousin, 12-year-old Leah Isadora Behn.

Then, he decided to perform the infamous dabbing dance move, which is popular among sports celebrities, who do it after scoring goals. Could this be set to become the new royal wave? We hope so!

During his short public appearance, the third in the line of succession to the Norwegian throne also pulled funny faces and the “V for victory” sign. And of course, he's achieved internet virality for doing so.

See, just when you thought that dabbing was becoming outdated, a nordic royal makes it fashionable again. And this isn't the first time the youngest has been caught on camera pulling pranks: during the Norwegian Constitution Day celebrations in Oslo, he was captured yawning and picking his nose.

Oddly, the young prince's cheeky antics at his grandparents' birthday celebrations were not the weirdest thing to happen. His father Crown Prince Haakon, who is heir to the Norwegian throne, shaved off his beard halfway through the birthday dinner party to see if guests would notice. Well, we guess that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree!
