Prince Harry just made a 1,700 mile detour to drop in on his girlfriend Meghan Markle - and we can't even get a text back...

The Prince, who has just finished a royal tour of the Caribbean on behalf of his grandmother the Queen, was scheduled to fly back from Barbados to London on Sunday, ensuring that he would arrive in time for an official engagement on Wednesday.

Instead, it seems that the Prince, who recently confirmed his relationship with Meghan in a statement released by Kensington Palace, chose to stop off in Toronto, where his girlfriend has been filming the latest season of Suits.

A source told The SunThe Sun that Harry 'just couldn't wait to see [Meghan]. He was due to fly back to London on a British Airways flight with the rest of his entourage. But he changed his mind and diverted straight to see her as they couldn't bear to be apart.' Truly, this is the stuff that rom-com endings are made of.

It's thought that Harry spent some quality time with his girlfriend, who was pictured smiling as she bought a bunch of flowers on the day, before making his way back to London.

The source revealed that Harry is 'absolutely besotted' with Meghan, adding that 'we've never seen him so happy.'

The couple are yet to make their first official appearance together - leaving us with nothing left but to pour over Meghan's Instagram posts and attempt to read between the lines...
