There’s nothing that compares with the fear of meeting potential future in-laws.
Do you shake their hand? Lean in for a hug? Opt for one or two kisses to the cheek? And what happens when you finally decide to lean in for a kiss but they reach out their sweaty palm for you to eagerly shake? We're squirming just thinking about it...
So we can’t help but sympathise with Prince Harry when the time came for him to finally meet girlfriend Meghan Markle’s father.
According to the Mail Online, Harry travelled to Toronto, where Meghan is filming television series Suits, to meet the 72-year-old for the first time six months ago. And it seems Harry made a good impression.
Meghan’s half-brother Thomas Markle Jr exclusively revealed to the publication that their dad was ‘proud’ of their relationship. And he seems to be in agreeance as he told the Mail Online, “They're extremely happy together, they look great together and she's done good.”
He continued: “'He looks like a genuinely good man - and he was in the Services as well. He looks happy, he looks like he's stress-free and like he could be a good guy for Meg.”
Meghan has now also reportedly met members of the Royal family including Prince William and Kate Middleton during a visit to London last December.
Thomas Markle Jr added: “She's the right girl for the job [of being a princess]. Look at them when they look at each other - they love each other. So it'll be great, it'll be royal.” Pardon the pun.
Here's to hoping there's another royal wedding on the cards for 2017.
