Prince Harry And Meghan Markle are growing their animal brood. According to People, the couple have a new dog. The newlyweds reportedly purchased the Labrador earlier this summer and the pup has been spending time with them at their Nottingham Cottage home at Kensington Palace in London and at their Cotswolds bolthole. The new Labrador is their second dog alongside Meghan’s rescue Beagle called Guy.

Both Harry and Meghan are famously big dog fans and Harry and his brother, Prince William, had a black Labrador as children.

Meghan was allegedly heartbroken when she had to leave her dog Bogart, a Labrador-Shepherd mix, in Toronto when she relocated to London to live with her new husband. It was suggested that the dog was too old to cope with the relocation and would be be better off staying Canada. Luckily she could bring Guy with her and according to Meghan’s make-up artist her canine companion was even with her on the morning of their wedding.

It seems dogs are an important element of the couple’s relationship and when the couple announced their engagement Harry said how his then-fiancee received immediate approval from the Queen’s corgis.

"I've spent the last 33 years being barked at, this one walks in, absolutely nothing," Harry said about Meghan’s first visit to see the Queen’s corgis, saying the dogs were "just wagging tails, and I was like, 'Argh.'"

From Pugs and Dachshunds to Spaniels and Greyhounds, the Royal family have had dogs throughout history. Check out some of their most famous dogs in the the Instagram video below...
