Harry and Meghan officially stepped down from their senior royal duties last month, but conservationist Dr Jane Goodall says she thinks the Duke of Sussex is finding life ‘a bit challenging’. In a new interview with the Radio Times, Dr Goodall - who was a guest at Frogmore Cottage last summer - also revealed that she thinks Harry might give up hunting, due to Meghan’s dislike of the sport.
She told the magazine that Harry and his brother William were champions of the natural world – ‘except they hunt and shoot’. However, the 86-year-old added: ‘But I think Harry will stop because Meghan doesn’t like hunting, so I suspect that is over for him.’
Goodall said that she’d been in touch with Harry recently, and that she thinks he might be finding things a little bit tough at the moment. ‘I don't know how his career is going to map out,’ she told the magazine, ‘but yes, I've been in touch, though I think he's finding life a bit challenging just now.’
As well as being a guest at Frogmore Cottage, Harry previously interviewed the primatologist for the special edition of British Vogue which was guest-edited by Meghan, where the pair discussed climate change and the environment.
Harry and Meghan are currently living in California (where Meghan was born), after leaving their rented £10.7million mansion in Vancouver, Canada. In their last Instagram post on @sussexroyal, the pair wrote: 'Thank you to this community - for the support, the inspiration and the shared commitment to the good in the world. We look forward to reconnecting with you soon. You’ve been great! Until then, please take good care of yourselves, and of one another.'
