While tradition may state that it’s unlucky for a groom to see his future wife’s bridal ensemble before the big day, ahead of the royal wedding this year Prince Harry had a sneak peak at one element of Meghan Markle’s outfit.
In a new interview recorded for the exhibition, A Royal Wedding: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Harry revealed that he helped Meghan choose her wedding day tiara.
In fact, the audio recording reveals that Harry and Meghan had visited Buckingham Palace to meet with the Queen to make the big decision, People reported.
"When it came to the tiara on the day, I was very fortunate to be able to choose this gorgeous art deco style bandeau tiara. Harry and I had gone to Buckingham Palace to meet with Her Majesty the Queen to select one of the options that were there, which was an incredibly surreal day as you can imagine," Meghan said.
Meghan described her tiara choice in the audio recording as “just perfect because it was so clean and simple."
"Every girl's dream is to be able to try on a tiara and, funnily enough, it was the one that suited the best, the one that looked the best on you without question," Harry said. "I shouldn't have really been there, but an incredible loan by my grandmother, it was very sweet," he added.
In the same recording Harry also reveals the reason behind his music choice for Meghan to walk down the aisle: Eternal Source of Light Divine by George Frideric Handel
“I was looking for something completely different and ended up stumbling across this piece of music. Something that epitomizes the whole day, the whole feeling that I have for her, and this incredibly impactful music with no organ whatsoever, with a soloist who actually did the most incredible job, to the orchestra,” Harry explained
“And now, both of us, wherever we are, whatever we’re doing, we can close our eyes, listen to that music and take ourselves straight back to that moment,” he expanded.
The exhibition, held at Windsor Castle, displays both Harry and Meghan's wedding outfits. Open to public until the 6th January, visitors can see the Duchess's gown, five-metre long veil and a replica of her bouquet alongside a replica of Harry’s military uniform. Royal fans can also get a look at Prince George's pageboy outfit and Princess Charlotte's bridesmaid dress.
