Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have shared their official 2024 Christmas card, which includes a rare photo of their children Archie and Lilibet. The picture of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s kids is among a series of six images on the card, and marks the first photo of their daughter since June 2022, when the last official photograph of her was released for her first birthday.
The snap of Archie, five, and Lilibet, three, shows them running towards their parents who greet them with smiles and outstretched arms and their beloved dogs Guy, Mia and Pula. While the children’s faces remain out of sight, Lilibet – who is wearing a floral dress, white knee-high socks and shoes – heads towards Harry with her long hair flowing behind her, while Archie – in a tan jacket and jeans – runs into Meghan’s waiting arms.
Fans were delighted to catch a new glimpse of Harry and Meghan’s kids. ‘So cute to see a picture of their children. They are really redheads!’ one said, with another adding, ‘Look at Lilibet’s red waves! Perfect mix of H&M!’ A third remarked, ‘It’s amazing how quickly Archie and Lilibet are growing!’
Earlier this year, Harry, 40, revealed that both of their kids had inherited Meghan's thick hair. ‘Archie and Lili have been blessed with their mother's thick hair,’ he said, adding that it won’t be long until Lili can sit on hers.
The card – on behalf for their Archewell Foundation and media company Archewell Productions – features the message, ‘On behalf of the office of Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundation, we wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful New Year’. The other pictures are a highlights reel of the Sussexes throughout 2024 and include images of the couple on their four-day visit to Colombia in August and their trip to Nigeria in May.
Harry and Meghan, 43, are expected to have a ‘low-key’ celebration for the festive holidays in America with Archie and Lilibet, with reports that they will not be joining the Royal Family at Sandringham.
Meghan previously gave an insight into the family’s festive traditions. ‘We’re always making sure we have something to do,’ she said. ‘Like any other family, you spend time having a great meal and then what do you do? Play games, all the same stuff, someone brings a guitar – fun.’
It's been quite a year for the Sussexes, who relocated to Montecito, California, after stepping down as senior members of the Royal Family in 2020.
As well as visits to Colombia, Nigeria and Canada, their latest project is Netflix docu-series Polo, which they were executive producers on, has had mixed reactions when it was released earlier this month. Meghan will return to screens in an unscripted Netflix series about 'the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship'. The family are also planning a move to Europe.
