This Thursday, Prince George will reach a major milestone in his young life as he attends his first day of school. The 4-year-old son of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge is due to start his education at the prestigious St Thomas's Battersea co-ed prep school in South London, marking a break from royal tradition as both Prince William and Prince Harry attended the all-boys school Wetherby in Notting Hill.
While many parents might be nervous about dropping thier little ones off at the school gates for the first time, there's an added level of concern for the royals, whose high profile makes them a security risk. It's unfortunate then that yesterday the school set to be frequented by the third-in-line to the throne was the subject of a major security breach.

According to The Telegraph, locals have raised fears that the school is vulnerable to terrorists after Sarah Burnett-Moore walked straight through the open gates and unlocked doors into the main building without anyone stopping her.
'I could have walked in with an IED and set it to go off on Thursday,' Burnett-Moore told the publication.'I live just 200 metres from the school and myself and lots of neighbours are worried about the security implications as the prince's presence will make the area a target for attacks.'
It is worth noting that the school is currently still closed for the summer holidays, with builders on site finishing last minute improvement work ahead of the prince's first day.
When the news about the Cambridge's choice of school was initially announced, some parents raised concerns about the level of scrutiny that it would place their children under (and some even joked to Vanity Fair that they were worried about the school fees going up).
The school has promised however that 'well-rehearsed' security procedures will come into action as of Thursday, when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are due to do the school run with George.
