In further proof that Prince George is the most relatable royal of all, it seems that the third in line to the throne loves Pancake Day just as much as we do.
His mother Kate Middleton revealed George’s Shrove Tuesday plans while opening a new Ronald McDonald House for the families of young patients at Evelina London Children’s Hospital yesterday. As the Duchess chatted with families and helped them to make pancakes, she was asked by four-year-old James Wheeler, ‘Where’s George today?’ (which, we have to admit, is one of the first things we’d shamelessly ask if we came face to face with Kate Middleton.)
Her reply? ‘George? I should have brought him. He’s at his Montessori nursery today making pancakes.’
The youngster then excitedly informed the Duchess that ‘there’s a thunderstorm coming!’ to which she replied: ‘Yes, I know all about those. George likes storms, too!’ Pancakes, storms, helicopters and being sassy to Justin Trudeau: the young Prince certainly has a wide range of interests.
George has been enrolled at the Westacre Montessori School since last January. This autumn, his family is set to make the move from Anmer Hall in Norfolk to Kensington Palace, with George due to start at a new school in September.
‘Prince George will begin school in London in September, and Princess Charlotte will also go to nursery and eventually school in London as well,’ a statement from Kensington Palace confirmed earlier this year. It is expected that George will attend Wetherby Pre-Preparatory School in Marylebone, where his father William and uncle Harry were once pupils.
