Now We Know Why Prince George Was Crying At Pippa’s Wedding

Weddings can be pretty overwhelming occasions for little people, and even more so when you’ve been picked to play a starring role in one of the most talked-about ceremonies of the year. So when Prince George was photographed looking glum after a reported telling off from his mother, Kate Middleton, while carrying out page boy duties at his aunt Pippa’s wedding last weekend, we empathised and then some.

Now, it’s been revealed by the Daily Mail that the telling off in question was all down to George treading on the train of his aunt’s bespoke Giles Deacon gown – and that wily Princess Charlotte managed to get away with the same thing without getting any of the blame. And that, friends, is why eldest children have a habit of feeling hard-done-by.

According to the paper it was actually Charlotte, one of Pippa’s bridesmaids, who stepped on the train first, with George simply following his younger sister. The Duchess of Cambridge, who had earlier been positioned at the church door to assist Pippa and help keep the bridal party of pre-schoolers in check, only seemed to catch George’s bad behaviour; hence George being the one to receive the telling off. That, or Charlotte was better at taking the telling off on the chin…

Either way, George seemed to cheer up quickly, and was later photographed giving onlookers a cheeky wave from the window of the classic car used to transport the bridal party to and from the church ceremony. We can only imagine the fun (and mischief) that ensued at the reception...
