The trial against Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs- who is facing charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution as well as a range of civil lawsuits alleging sexual assault, rape and abuse over a 20 year period- has spawned numerous news articles, not only because of the shocking nature of the crimes but also the extensive list of famous names that might have to appear in court.

Already, Cassie Ventura and Danity Kane singer Dawn Richard have given their testimonies, but many other celeb names have been thrown around as possible witnesses.

One surprising celebrity name that cropped up was Prince, the iconic singer songwriter who passed away in April 2016 following a three-decade-long career. Recently, a rumour surfaced that the late singer had left behind an alleged recording about Combs. The rumour reportedly originated from the YouTube channel WhatIsMyStarWorth and it quickly caused an online frenzy of sleuths trying to work out what was said on the recording.

However, the now-viral claim is in fact fake, and no such recording was shown at the trial.

The video was titled, 1 MINUTE AGO: Prince’s SECRET Recording Just Shattered Diddy’s Trial…

The description read, ‘In a stunning turn of events, a previously unreleased recording from the late music icon Prince has surfaced — and it's reportedly causing major damage to the ongoing trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs. The recording, said to have been made in confidence, contains explosive insights and personal warnings that directly tie into the heart of the case. In this video, we break down the content of the alleged recording, how it resurfaced, and why it’s being described as a game-changer in the courtroom. Prince, known for his cryptic genius and deep knowledge of the music industry, may have left behind more than just music—he may have left a warning no one expected. This revelation could shift everything.’

However, the video description also now contains a disclaimer reading, ‘Disclaimer: This content is fictional and for entertainment purposes only. No official sources confirm the existence of such a recording.’
