Prince Charles has tested positive for coronavirus - but he 'remains in good health'. ‘The Prince of Wales has tested positive for Coronavirus,’ a Clarence House spokesperson confirmed this morning. ‘He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual.’

The spokesperson added that he is now self-isolating with Camilla, who does not have the virus. ‘The Duchess of Cornwall has also been tested but does not have the virus. In accordance with Government and medical advice, the Prince and the Duchess are now self-isolating at home in Scotland,' they added. 'The tests were carried out by the NHS in Aberdeenshire where they met the criteria required for testing. It is not possible to ascertain from whom the Prince caught the virus owing to the high number of engagements he carried out in his public role during recent weeks.’

The 71-year-old's last public event was a reception in aid of the Australian bushfire relief effort on March 12 at Mansion House in London - however, earlier that day he attended a ceremony at Buckingham Palace, where he greeted people with a non-contact gesture.

Prince Charles is one of the latest names to have caught the virus, after stars like Idris Elba and Tom Hanks have also revealed they tested positive for the virus. Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson are now recovering from the virus, telling followers on Sunday that they 'feel better'.
