After appearing at the John Wayne 30th Annual Odyssey Ball in Beverly Hills, singer Pink was criticised on Twitter for her apparent weight gain, before calling out the trolls with the perfect response.
‘I can see that some of you are concerned about me from your comments about my weight,’ she tweeted earlier this week to her haterz. ‘You’re referring to the pictures of me from last night’s (Saturday) cancer benefit that I attended to support my dear friend Dr Maggie DiNome. She was given the Duke Award for her tireless efforts and stellar contributions to the eradication of cancer. But unfortunately, my weight seems much more important to some of you.’
She continued: ‘In fact, I feel beautiful. So, my good and concerned peoples, please don’t worry about me (sic). I’m not worried about me. And I’m not worried about you either. I am perfectly fine, perfectly happy, and my healthy, voluptuous and crazy strong body is having some much deserved time off.’
Preach to the max. And let’s not forget that Pink once did an upside-down trapeze while singing and spinning around, and still sounded excellent – so it’s good she’s not letting the stupid comments get to her. We’d like to see the trolls even attempt one aspect of the frequent acrobatics she nails on her tours.
Oh, and the best bit is she signed off the tweet: ‘Love, cheesecake’ – which makes us want to stand up and applaud. And then eat some cheesecake.
