Despite stepping down from Good Morning Britain after refusing to apologise to Meghan Markle, noopener noreferrer}
'I’ve had some messages communicated to me on behalf of several members of the royal family,' he told Extra TV’s host Billy Bush.
So, who? Just who has messaged Piers? Come on, we're dying to know! Especially after he has repeatedly criticised Meghan for not directly naming and shaming royals in the Oprah interview. In fact, just hours ago, he had been ranting about the subject again, telling Fox's Tucker Carlson, 'As a British taxpayer, who helps pay for the royal family, I would like to know, actually, if there is a real racist inside the palace .'
So, come on Piers, tell us who messaged you their support?
Oh, but of course - he isn't going to tell us. 'I’m not going to go into who it was but [it was] gratitude that somebody was standing up,' he said
He wants us all to know that members of the royal family are (supposedly) on his side, while still keeping their privacy, as individuals, intact. Surely if Piers doesn't want to directly name who has contacted him, then he can understand why Meghan and Harry felt like they couldn't name which member of the family was racist? (And anyway, it seems like Piers is just boasting - Meghan's claim was important and valid to make in the interview, whether or not she felt like her and Harry could name them.)
And if we're using the same logic that Piers has repeatedly used to criticise Meghan, just how are we meant to believe him?
