Just imagine. You love Phoebe Waller-Bridge SO MUCH that you have a t-shirt with her face on it. And then, while out and about, you bump into the woman herself. A little bit amazing. A little bit mortifying. But we are definitely jealous.
Last month, 'traveler and donut lover' Dani Vee had a pinch-me-am-I-dreaming moment with the Fleabag star. It's not clear where this took place, but the sunny clime seems to count the UK out of contention. Having spotted Phoebe out and about, Dani had the perfect ice-breaker (just scroll right on the post below to see it...)
'They say "never meet your heroes", she wrote. 'Fuck that. You should DEFINITELY 100% meet them. Or when you’re traveling just embarrassingly bump into them whilst wearing their face on your shirt.'
Unsurprisingly, Phoebe - who has been nominated at this year's Olivier Awards for the stage version of Fleabag, and was on the writing team for the forthcoming Bond film No Time To Die - took the tribute in good grace.
'Phoebe Waller-Bridge could not be more friendly, hilarious, kind, generous, and incredibly down-to-earth', says Dani. 'We laughed, chatted, and she allowed me to gush over fellow genius Taika Waititi [writer and director of Jojo Rabbit.] She’s just awesome. Go forth and watch Fleabag.'
Phoebe has a reputation for being lovely to her fans. When she was appearing on the West End last year, she took cans of gin and tonic (a reference to the show's Hot Priest, played by Andrew Scott) to those queuing up outside the box office.
We say, take Dani's advice. Go forth and watch Fleabag. Now! And next time you're wearing your Phoebe Waller-Bridge T-shirt, keep an eye out for the real thing.
