Ariana Grande’s fans are naaaaat happy with her. And it’s all because of an Instagram post. The popstar recently posted a picture of herself with the caption: ”When you’re cute but you’re also the hardest working 23 year old human being on earth #cute #butalso #CEO #unf-kwitable #haventsleptinyears.’
The thing is, Ariana Grande probably does works hard - like most popstars she lives on a conveyor belt of tours, music releases and fan events. She’s just finished Hairspray Live and already has a few new projects under her belt, while preparing for her latest Dangerous Woman tour and the live-action Beauty and the Beast movie. Just naming all of those massive projects has made me tired. But the point is, she also gets well rewarded for all of that work, when plenty of other people in the world - who also work their arses off - do not.
Which was pointed out to her in no uncertain terms by a whole bunch of Instagram users:
"You wouldn’t know hard working if it hit you in the face #whatajoke."
"Woman! I bet your have never taken part in back breaking physical labor. Like a Marine, a soldier, a sailor, an airman, a policeman, a lineman, a pipeline, and the rest of the blue collar world. So please keep talking."

Because the thing is, yes she probably does work incredibly hard, and puts far longer hours in than we ever do.
But the fact that she basically gets to be a massive international pop star, and gets paid a whole load of money to do it is an incredible privilege. And it's a privilege plenty of 23 year old (or 33, or 43 year olds, for that matter) who are doing unpaid work experience just to get into an industry, or working three jobs to pay their rent or cover the cost of their education, and are even more knackered than she is, just don't have.
