It’s been a little over a week since Normal People hit our screens - and while we're obsessed with Marianne's seriously cool style (and her fringe) it's Connell's Paul Mescal who has stolen our hearts. Not only has Paul now gained nearly 200,000 followers on Instagram - but testament to our obsession, even Connell’s chain now has its own fan account (with over 15,000 followers and counting).
It’s no surprise, then, that the Internet lost its collective mind when Paul uploaded a video of him singing and playing piano to his Instagram story over the weekend. The actor delighted his followers with his cover of Thin Lizzy’s Dancing in the Moonlight. And singing runs in the family too - his younger sister Nell is a talented singer-songwriter - as he captioned the video 'copying @nellmescal'.
'Paul Mescal just posted stories on his Instagram of him singing, yep I’m 10x more in love,' one Tweet read, while another fan wrote, 'Paul Mescal singing and playing piano on his story is not what I needed to see hungover and lonely.' And somebody else added, 'Paul Mescal from Normal People playing piano and singing is like the final nail in the coffin of realistic expectations from Irish women.'
It's not the first time he's showed off his singing skills, because as if that isn't enough, he also serenaded Instagram with a cover of Lady Gaga's Always Remember Us This Way back in 2018.
