Here Are Some More Photos Of Paul Mescal In Connell’s Chain

We didn’t know we could feel so many things for a piece of jewellery until we watchedConnell in Normal People. But now we are all feeling things for the chain. In fact, the chain now has 146,000 followers on Instagram. And counting.

And in a new photoshoot for Wonderland, the actor is back wearing Connell’s chain. The pics were taken a while ago before lockdown by Bartek Szmigulski. Paul’s wearing a jumper vest in some pics, so it must have been colder - but he's rocking the chain/vest combo.

Paul revealed earlier this month that wearing chains is nothing new for him, so he was bemused when the Connell's chain Instagram account amassed such a huge following so quickly. ‘I’m not gonna abuse anybody who thinks chains are sexy but I wore chains and necklaces before and I definitely didn’t get the attention that this chain is getting,’ he said on Radio 1.

What with Normal People being released while we’re all still in lockdown, the actor hasn’t really got to properly experience fame yet which must be quite weird for him. 'I feel the success of the show when I pick my phone up, but when I put my phone down, nothing has changed from before or after the release,' he says during the Zoom interview with Wonderland. But, nonetheless, he still gets spotted when he goes for his weekly shop, and said the first time a fan approached him he ‘went bright red and panicked a little.’

However, as much as we’d love to see more of Connell’s chain on our screens, a second series isn’t ‘on the cards’ at the moment. ‘Oh, there's no question that character to me is still alive and breathing and very much has a lot of life left to live, and has a relationship with Marianne that is maybe unfinished,' Paul says. He adds: ‘I do feel like the series that has finished is its own thing, and I'm totally comfortable with that. It's not on the cards at the moment, but if I got the opportunity to play him again, amazing.'
