With a nebula of bleached blonde hair and more jewellery than Pat Butcher, Paris Jackson transformed into Madonna's long lost sister for a Chanel shoot on Thursday. Onsite by the Eiffel Tower in Paris, surrounded by costumed military men, she waved a French and an American flag and channelled Madge's lyrics, 'Strike a pose, Vogue, vogue, vogue'.
Kissing soldiers and sitting like Jayne Mansfield atop an armoured car, she pouted in a red Breton top in one look. In another shot, she wore a sheer pussy bow blouse, net gloves and a thick lashing of lipstick. If there was ever proof of the ongoing influence off Madonna's eighties aesthetic, this is surely it.
This shoot marks a seismic shift for the 18-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson. Paris grew up away from the spotlight, but since her father's untimely death has been teetering into celeb culture. However, this is the first time she has pursued the fashion world.
It begs the question: will she follow in Lily-Rose Depp's footsteps and become a new face for the French fashion house?
