Of all the Love Island{ =nofollow}winners, Paige Turley and Finley Tapp - the winners of last year’s inaugural Winter Love Island - must have had the strangest experience. From being voted king and queen, and then winning the £50,000 cash prize, within a month, we were all plunged into lockdown. Meaning they missed out on the typical Love Island life of events and parties which they would have normally been invited to.

Paige and Finn won the series at the end of February 2020, with the UK going into full lockdown on March 16. And a few days before the PM announced the measures, Finn decided to drive up to Scotland to live with Paige and her family. (Finn has now picked up the Scottish dialect so much he now says 'aye'.) But, before life in the villa, Paige and Finn had no idea about coronavirus.

And speaking to Grazia last night as part of ourPulled For A Chat Instagram live series, the pair revealed how they were broke the news that Covid-19 existed, when they were briefed by Love Island staff about other big news stories that had happened during their time on the show.

‘Like we'd never heard of COVID-19 or Coronavirus,’ Finn said, when asked if they were told about coronavirus by ITV after leaving the villa. Paige explained, ‘So like when we were coming out we were debriefed with what's been happening in the world, but [we were told] there is this virus and we don’t think it’s going to be a big deal, and literally two weeks later Boris Johnson was like, “Right, lockdown”.’

‘Yeah, [the producers] pull you into a room and they just sort of sit you down and it's almost like a debrief of just preparing you for what's gone on since you've been in there and stuff like that,’ Finn continued to explain. ‘Wacky things like, there's been this article, there's been this article, and then the last one they just threw in was like, “Oh and this like this virus spreading around the world” and we’re like what?’

Also in the chat, the pair spoke about how they thought Shannon Singh could make her return to the series, after being brutally dumped in the third episode. 'It seemed very sudden. Like, "ooh, I've got a text guys, I've been dumped",' Finn said. Paige elaborated, saying that she thinks Shannon will be leading the drama in Casa Amor. 'Now I think there's going to be Casa Amor, and I think Shannon will lead the new girls in, and then the video will be sent back to them in the main villa.'

Paige Turley and Finley Tapp - TOGETHER

The winners of winter Love Island, Paige and Finn! We are very happy to report that the couple continued to make their relationship work on the outside world - and they're still very much together, after Finn went to stay at Paige's family home during lockdown before they moved into their Manchester love nest. Obviously their relationship has a winning formula.

Luke and Siânnise, who only missed out on winning the title by 1% of the vote, continued to date over a year after they left the villa. In fact, the pair even moved in together and adopted a puppy, but they sadly split in late 2021 and Siânnise confirmed she was single in March 2022.

Unfortunately, these two were not to last - they never even made it official. Lockdown got in the way of their relationship, and Demi claimed that Luke was making 'no effort' with her. However, Luke is now ENGAGED to another Islander - 2019's Lucie Donlan (remember, bev?) and Demi is loved-up with her boyfriend Miami.

After a rollercoaster ride in the villa, Mike found his partner when Priscilla joined the show in Casa Amor. Their romance continued going strong on the outside world until they sparked split rumours last year when they unfollowed each other on social media. The pair have since confirmed they're no longer an item.

Shaughna Phillips said she should have never trusted a scaffolder when Callum dumped her for Molly after Casa Amor. But Molly clearly trusts Callum - as they're still together now, having moved into their own home together and welcomed a pet pooch into their family.

These two - who met in Casa Amor - are also the real deal. They officially became a couple in July last year, and they still post loads of adorable selfies together.

Uh oh, this couple weren't destined to be together. The pair isolated separately when the pandemic hit, which obviously put a strain on their relationship. They called it quits in December 2020.

Sophie and Callum posted this pic together on Valentine's Day 2020 shortly after leaving the villa, but turns out they didn't stay each other's Valentines. The pair never made it official, and their relationship didn't survive lockdown. Both Sophie and Connor now have new partners.
