And we're off! It's the 87th Annual Academy Awards (that's the Oscars to you and I) and boy, we are in for a treat. Our crack team of beauty experts (aka me, Daniela, the beauty assistant and a whole lot of coffee) will be bringing you ALL the best beauty looks as they come down the red carpet. It's the Oscars, people!
The Oscars is basically an excuse for all of the A List to really bring their A Game - if there’s an outlandish trend or really glamorous hairstyle a star has had their eye on for a while, you can bet your bottom dollar that the Oscars will be the time they try it. Which makes the red carpet a veritable beauty playground, chock-full of ooh and aah-inducing looks that make us wish we had Charlotte Tilbury on speed dial. Well, more than usual.
Best Oscars 2015 Beauty
Louise Roe
Working a statement navy eye and some sharp sculpting.
America Ferrera
Looking radiant with natural makeup and a gorgeous, peachy glow.
Anna Kendrick
Why Miss Kendrick, you look ravishing. We heart her updo and bold blush - proves that sometimes, classic is best.
Gina Rodriguez
Old meets new with this cute bouffant updo, paired with fresh makeup and a nude lip.
Karolina Kurkova
Karolina looks fresh as a daisy with a slicked back 'do and a radiant complexion.
Margot Robbie
This could be the look to beat. Slick, faux-undercut styled hair teamed with an unapologetically red lip. A sensational twist on Hollywood glam.
Dakota Johnson
A glossy pinky-red lip and some choppy bangs is classic Dakota.
Zendaya
We love Zendaya's cascading locks and seriously on point eyebrows.
Marian Cottilard
A winged, feline flick and a soft pink lip is a pretty, understated look for Ms Cotillard.
Felicity Jones
Debuting a fuller fringe, Felicity looks every inch the English rose. Top marks for her super lash-y, winged-out eyes.
Rosamund Pike
Rosamund has some of the best brows in Hollywood. Neat, full and perfectly arched, we want want she's having. Pink and bronze toned eyes and cheeks keep it fresh.
Naomi Watts
We love Naomi for flying the flag for bold lips - this berry stain is right up our street.
Lupita Nyong'o
How. Does. She. Look. So. Radiant? Lupita manages to once again look like good health and elegance personified with her glowing skin and pretty green eyeshadow.
Sienna Miller
Our current number one beauty crush, Sienna, looks resplendent with bronze smokey eyes and a pretty pink lip.
Julianne Moore
A bold lip, with a side-swept fringe and the glossiest tresses going makes for a high-octane, but elegant, look.
Zoe Saldana
Loving the cute, tumbling curls - gives Zoe's updo a more modern, natural feel.
Cate Blanchett
A faux-hawk with teased flyaway strands is the perfect style for Cate, who likes to mix it up a little. Two thumbs up for her soft glow, too.
Rita Ora
Rita's platinum blonde locks look sleek and polished, and statement cat eye lined and soft contouring completes this elegant look.
Chloe Grace Moretz
Full brows, loose waves and a peachy glow. Chloe looks divine and totally unfussy.
Viola Davis
We love Viola's bold, wine-stained pout and elegant hair 'do.
Reese Witherspoon
Bronze is proving the shade du jour - and we love Reese's golden, glowing eye makeup and her shiny, Elle Woods-esque blonde locks.
Gwyneth Paltrow
A swept back taken on the ponytail with some height at the crown and a classic smokey eye for Ms Paltrow.
Jennifer Lopez
Sculpted? Check. Tight pony? Check. Pink lip? Check. Classic J.Lo through and through, but we can't fault her.
Scarlett Johansson
WORKING that short back and sides. We love this new androgynous vibe ScarJo's been serving up.
Jessica Chastain
A slick of lash-hugging bronze liner is the perfect partner to Jessica's enviably glossy tresses.
Emma Stone
A retro look, with side-swept, deep 40s waves. A coral lip offsets all the glam and keeps it fun and fresh.
Jennifer Aniston
Cali-cool with loose, tousled waves and the best winter tan going.
Lady GaGa
Channeling her inner flamenco danger with this glossy red lip and low bun - not to mention the flower in her hair.
Jenna Dewan Tatum
Nailed it. Orange-red lips and a neat, low ballerina bun. All topped off with a silver-toned eye - we're crushing hard on this look.
We predict a beautiful, romantic look from Keira Knightley, something edgy from Miley Cyrus and hopefully, something really nuanced but pretty from Emma Stone. But, there will probably be some surprise hits (and misses) of the night too. Sometimes a star tries something different from their usual red carpet formula, which can be amazing. Or, in other cases, if it ain’t broke, don’t cover it in spangly eyeshadow and a ‘fun’ lip. We’re hoping to see more gorgeous, metallic-toned smokey eyes, some beautifully tousled long bobs and hopefully a slightly more directional look here and there, courtesy of the younger nominated contingent. We can't wait - stay tuned for more.
