Sadly, after almost ten years together, for six of which they were engaged, Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry have announced that they have broken up. A joint statement released by their respective representatives reads: 'Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is – and always will be – raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.'
According to People's sources, their relationship had been 'breaking down' for months. Speculation reached fever pitch around the time of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's €40 million Venice wedding, which only Orlando attended despite both of them being close friends with the billionaire couple.
Apparently, one source of tension (rather awkwardly) was the Blue Origin space trip Katy fronted in April, which was largely lambasted by the media. ‘From day one, Orlando didn’t think going on the Blue Origin mission was a good idea, and knew she would face backlash,’ a source told The Sun. And according to People's sources, issues in the relationship were also exacerbated by the poor reaction to Perry’s 143 album, particularly her single 'Woman's World'.
When did Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom first get together?
The exes first met while fighting over a burger at a Golden Globes afterparty in 2016. They started dating shortly after before going on a break in 2017. Things quickly turned serious when they reunited in 2018, with Orlando proposing to Katy on Valentine's Day in 2019.
Do Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have children?
Apparently, their wedding was scheduled to take place the following year, but their wedding plans were scarpered by the pandemic. In August 2020, Katy and Orlando welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom.

Orlando and Katy were spotted together in Australia, where Katy was on tour, in late June days before the Venice wedding, which initially caused some confusion as to whether the break up rumours were true. But, as the joint statement confirms, they were simply together for the sake of their four-year-old daughter.
Of course, Orlando also has a healthy co-parenting arrangement with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr, who he was with for six years in total and married in 2010. The pair ended their relationship in 2013 and share a 14-year-old son called Flynn, who lives primarily with Miranda and her husband, Snapchat CEO Evan Spiegel. The couple have three additional sons Hart, Myles and Pierre.
It's thought that Orlando and Katy will both still primarily reside in LA, where Miranda and Evan also live, so it should not be too difficult an adjustment moving forward.
