Orange Is The New Black’s Samira Wiley (or Poussey if you didn’t know her name IRL) is moving on...

It’s safe to say we all loved Samira Wiley's OITNB character, Poussey, am I right? If you didn’t then we can’t be friends, but either way, I'd also highly advise you go check out her Instagram where she does great stuff like hanging out with koala bears.

Anyway, it's just been announced that Samira will be joining to cast of Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale. The 10-episode series is based on Margaret Atwood’s award-winning dystopian novel – which I am yet to read, so don't worry there will be no spoilers here. In a quick two-second sentence synopsis, the novel is set in a dystopian future where human rights have been taken away, and women have no rights at all. Offered, the main character is a handmaid – her only function is reproduction for the upper classes.

I had a quick chat with our creative editor Natalia, who has read the book and her eyes widened in a 'oh my god it's so good you wouldn't even believe' kind of way. Which makes me think this series is going to be BIG.

Elisabeth Moss (you know, Peggy Olson from Mad Men) will be playing the lead handmaid, Offred, with Samira playing Moria – Offred's college friend and fellow handmaid. That’s all I’m giving away incase you want to frantically read the novel before the series comes out, like me. The new Hulu series is scheduled to premiere in 2017, so there’s time to devour the book before then. Get reading, guys.
